Imagine my surprise when I reached into my mailbox recently and found a People’s Report. A People’s Report? Had I experienced a wrench in the cosmos that transported me to the old Soviet Union? Or perhaps I had been transported to Red China? What was this document I received that carried Marxist-like verbiage? Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, it turned out to be a flyer from Assemblywoman Shrestha.

The flyer dutifully went through the various topics that were thought to be achievements for the state and/or crises descending on us. A sampling:

Legislation called the New York Health Act is slated to create a single-payer system. Hasn’t that government healthcare system failed whenever it has been tried? Canadians come to the U.S. for significant care.

There were 790 NEW bills passed last year. I confess I haven’t read them, but I suspect they did more to restrain and regulate our freedom than increase it.

There are all-electric buildings and the quest for renewables to power everything. The failures of these programs cannot be addressed here, but these moves are ideologically driven and are untenable.

There are articles about beating up Central Hudson about a rate hike, but there wasn’t much discussion when the Christmas ’22 present was delivered by the Democrats (specifically Senator Hinchey, Assemblywoman Barrett, and outgoing Assemblyman Cahill) to give themselves a 29% or $32,000/year pay increase while we struggled.

Why are the Democrats allowed to keep a one-party system in place?
