Calling all artists, musicians, and writers: Applications are now open for the 15th Annual O+ Festival in Kingston (Oct. 10-12, 2025), where creatives can trade their work for health and wellness services provided by volunteers.

Un- and under-insured artists can apply for free through Submittable until May 4. Submissions are welcome across all genres, mediums, and modalities, and visual artists, musicians, and writers are encouraged to respond to the festival's theme of “POWER.”

“Power is a force, a medium and a subject that we encounter and contend with in our everyday lives,” says O+ Festival Art Director Lindsey Wolkowicz. “The 15th Annual O+ Festival offers a space for artists, working in all forms, to reconsider power not just as something to be held, but as something to be shared, dismantled, or reframed.”

At the festival, artists will create and perform at various venues in exchange for healthcare services provided by volunteer doctors, dentists, therapists and complementary care practitioners. The O+ Festival's model of care – “exchanging the art of medicine for the medicine of art” – has offered nearly 5,800 health and wellness services and over 1,500 dental services to creative professionals since 2010.

In addition to the festival weekend, the O+ Team connects creatives with care providers year-round through the O+ Exchange Clinic in Kingston, which launched in November 2023 and expanded alumni access to health and wellness care from three days a year to 365.

“Seeing artists actually get medical help and spiritual health, and mental health help and massages and reiki, it’s really incredible… I hope this is a direction in which the world is moving in general. Thank God for O+,” shared 2024 O+ Festival alum Rhett Miller of Old 97's.

Each year, O+ Festival develops a diverse and inclusive lineup through committees of O+ alumni and professional industry representatives. While the festival is open to artists from around the world, priority is placed on supporting artists who live and work in the Hudson Valley, where in 2024, 79% of visual and performing artists and 58% of musicians called the Valley home.
