New York State Electric and Gas wants to store equipment and park trucks on a large, paved lot behind the U.S. post office on Main Street in Pine Bush. The lot, unused for years, was once a parking lot for school buses and before that as a location for trailer sales.

Representatives for MJMA Holdings, LLC, told the Crawford Planning Board that the utility wants to move from a smaller lot behind the Stewart’s Shop on Boniface Drive. NYSEG plans to park trucks and keep utility poles, wiring and other equipment on the lot to be used for projects in the region over the next year and a half.

The utility had hoped to move by July 1, but the town doesn’t move that fast. MJMA is requesting the board’s approval of an amended site plan for the property. The board scheduled a public hearing on the request for July 24. Board Vice Chairman Joseph Gingras said the request should have been made earlier if the utility wanted to meet the July 1 deadline.

Another property about to house a new business is at 2830 Route 17K, east of the Five Corners intersection in the hamlet of Bullville. Emma Paige Properties is requesting a special use permit to allow a car wrap business, an office and apartment in an existing building with a large garage on the property, which is zoned for business.

Car wraps are a thin, flexible vinyl film applied directly to a vehicle’s surface. They come in a variety of colors and finishes and take the place of a new paint job. They also can protect vehicles from scratches, sun damage and minor abrasions. The wraps are popular among owners of commercial vehicles and show cars. The board scheduled a public hearing, also for July 24, on the request.

Paul and Lori Webman, who want to move their ATV sales and service business from Wallkill to a defunct Thompson Ridge Nursery property in Bullville, were back before the board with their engineer Ross Winglovitz of Engineering Surveying Properties of Montgomery. It was their first appearance since board members visited the property to get a better idea of what the Webmans are planning to do with an existing building and greenhouses on the property.

Winglovitz told the board that a new site plan is being prepared. The board told the engineer what it expected to see on the plan, for example, the exact location of an exterior display area for the ATVs. Paul Webman previously told the board that he would not change the footprint of the old nursery building or the greenhouses, which he intends to fix up and utilize the space. The project is far enough along that the board scheduled a public hearing for July 24.

The board approved the subdivision of a property at 24 Beyers Road. Invoss LLC plans to create two buildable lots, one of four acres and another of two and a half acres. An existing house on the property will be left with 17.5 acres.

The owners of a farm at 315 Collabar Road who want to shave a 3.8-acre buildable lot from the farm will have to wait until the board receives the town engineer’s report on the request.

Douglas Meredith got the board’s approval for the black and cream color scheme he’s chosen for renovations to a building at 66 Main Street in Pine Bush. The building was subject to an architectural review because of its location in Pine Bush’s central hamlet zone. The building was home to Pudgy’s Pizza and Mexican restaurant for years. Pudgy’s sold to new owners who continued similar fare under the name La Gondolita. That restaurant has closed. Meredith told the board he had not signed up a new tenant yet.
