The hamlet’s 18th annual Trout Parade this year heads west with its theme “Trout on the Range” Taking place on Saturday, June 8, the grand procession is only part of the day’s activities. There will also be a Vendor Fair, food, music, activities for kids and lots to see and enjoy.

Leading off the parade will be the late artist Bud Wertheim’s renowned seven-person trout puppet, followed by all Manor of floats, the LMCS marching band, Hartford’s Proud Drill, Drum and Dance Corps, the Catskill Puppet Theater’s large puppets and LMFD’s finest fire trucks.

The parade’s Grand Marshals will be members of Agudas Achim, a special occasion because the temple on Rock Avenue is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Brad Mann of Jitterbug will act as the procession’s Master of Ceremonies.

Traffic

Main Street will be closed from Jeff Bank to Pearl Street starting at 9 a.m. and from Pearl Street to Creamery Road from noon until after the parade.

Shopping

Official Trout Parade merchandise and other craft and collectible items will be available at the Vendor Fair at Pearl and Main streets from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food

The LM Fire Department will have a chicken barbecue starting at 11 a.m. and going until 1 p.m. at the firehouse, with tickets available for advance purchase and on parade day.

Activities

Get your portrait taken at the Photo Booth at the Vendor Fair by photographer Jill C. Smith from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Restroom Facilities Porta-potties are located in the lot at Pearl and Main streets.

Parking

Parking is available in the lot at Rotary Park at the end of Pleasant Street and in the lot behind Peck’s on Meadow Street. Additional curbside parking can be found on Rock Avenue and Pearl Street. Please respect residents’ property and park legally.
