The Ulster County community arts community is getting ready to celebrate local high school talent. On April 5, the annual Future Voices Art Exhibit will open at the Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery on the SUNY Ulster Stone Ridge campus, featuring artwork from high school students from Ulster County.

The show brings together students from multiple high schools in the county, showcasing their creativity and skills in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, digital media, film and music. The show is a platform for the students to showcase their work and make an impact on the community.

Each year, one student from each participating school will be awarded a $100 cash prize for the best piece in the show, with two honorable mentions worth $50 each. Local artist Allison Constant, owner and founder of Art Bar in Kingston, will curate the show, selecting pieces from a combination of high-quality work from participating schools.

The Future Voices Art Exhibit is free and open to the public of all ages. The opening reception takes place on Friday, April 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. The Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is closed on college holidays and weekends.
